Learning from Life’s ‘Curve Balls’

We have all had them ‘The curve ball’  when we are going through life with an eye on where we want to go and generally feeling good about things. WHEN! suddenly we encounter a problem, situation or new circumstance which derails us or stops us in our tracks.

This can happen when we are planning some life or business event using our tried and tested plan of action, and discover that it has stopped working. Or the A to B plan we have used for years just dosn’t get the response it once did from others. This rude awakening can be devastating when it occurs, we can find ourselves floored by it and so ‘react’ to it by doing the same thing but thinking that if we work harder it will turn around. Or we give our time and energy to feelings of failure and sleepless nights to worry.

magical roseIn my experiences of numberous ‘Curve balls’ I eventually discovered that these changes are very often just a test. One which takes us out of our comfort zone and gets us to stop and reflect on what we are doing, on what is working and not working.

Through giving time to this ‘life review’ we gain amazing insights about ourselves and we gain an incredible conscious awareness that; so often ‘life’ throws us ‘curve balls’ to not so much hinder our progress but to throw the spotlight on something that we need to stop doing to ensure that we open our eyes to new opportunities and possibilities.

As we dissolve old habits and embrace the new we plant ourselves in new ground and give ourselves the time and self care to grow into our amazing unique potential. We learn that just as the growth of the Rose is not hindered by its thorns, but is rather protected by them, so too can our ‘curve balls’ support our growth. We start to Dream Big and ground ourselves in the now, to work with not against life changes.

So ‘learning from life’s ‘Curve Balls’ can become the catalyst to real and positive change in our lives and can be a whole lot of fun too, I know.
