It is interesting how our priorities change as we move through life. How what we once may have held as being so important to have and to achieve can change either in the light of a bright new positive experience, or as is so often the case, through a sudden painful change in events and circumstances.
Life is of course constantly changing and we either move with it or fight against it’s ebbs and flows, either way life in an instant can turn our world upside down in a myriad of ways.
The recent unexpected passing of a close friend, left me once again considering even deeper then before the preciousness of each moment that I live and the quality of the time I share with loved ones and friends. It got me reflecting on who and what is really important in my life. Such challenging mind-numbing moments can cut to the very core of our being and remind us of the fragility of life, indeed the fragility of ourselves in the living of it.
Every minute in life’s circle of events brings with it the opportunity to consciously awaken and listen to it’s guidance. But, for the most part we can be too busy to stop and hear what it is saying to us. We can be so caught up in endeavouring to fulfill our life ambitions and desires, in the ‘doing’ of things, that we can forget to give time to simply ‘being’.
We weave in and out of each others lives, for either short or long periods of time. We interlink and connect in present moment encounters and share experiences that we may in future years with the passing of time mostly forget. However, there will be moments shared with certain people that will remain forever very precious to us and will be forever remembered. For such moments will have touched our minds, hearts and spirits and enriched us in life changing ways.
So, if there are people in your life that mean the world to you, tell them and show them everyday how much you love them, or if there are others who you have intended for ages to contact and meet with but keep putting it on the long finger, go on, do it now. Don’t let precious moment’s slip by, for life and time with it’s inevitable changes casts it’s long shadow and passes by all to quickly and is gone.
